Basement Waterproofing

Basement waterproofing is often known as "tanking". This is carried out to prevent unwanted water from entering; this is a common problem as they usually lie below the water level. This kind of waterproofing often takes place when converting a basement into a living space, without this your surfaces are prone to cracks caused by ground water movement.

Waterproofing basements is often difficult, as they are below ground level. Ground water can put pressure on the walls and can often make cellars and basements uninhabitable. Tanking works by creating a barrier on the inside wall to prevent water from getting in.

There are two main methods of basement waterproofing are called cementitious and membrane tanking systems.
